Mark your calendars!

PSBA's annual auction will be held at the Pacific Bonsai Museum in Federal Way on Saturday, June 3rd.  Check-in and tree preview at Noon.  Live Auction starts at 1:00 and goes to about 4 pm. Special thanks go to the Pacific Bonsai Museum for being our host.

The annual auction is PSBA’s biggest fundraising event of the year, and also a great way to build or refresh your collection. Here are ways to contribute:

Contribute a Tree to the Live Auction. Got a tree that’s too big for you to carry? Looks just like another one in your collection? Looks great but you’re out of ideas? This is your chance to pass it along to a knowledgeable buyer, with a professional auctioneer working to ensure the best price for you.

We will accept about 70 trees and no more than 5 viewing stones for the live auction. Limit 5 items per club member. Reserve pricing allowed; $15 fee on any items that do not meet reserve. 10% of selling price will be retained by PSBA as a commission.

To submit trees for the live auction, e-mail Aaron Pollock at no later than May 17th. Please provide a short description of each tree, including age, where collected, how long in bonsai training, pot details, etc.  Photos strongly recommended (may be used in promotional material).

Contribute to the Silent Auction.  Want to cull your stack of bonsai pots or your row of bonsai books? Got a cute little tree that’s not quite good enough for the live auction? Bring these items on the day to sell in the silent auction (be sure to come early and have the items labeled). Maximum reserve price $100; limit 5 items per club member. 10% of selling price will be retained by PSBA as a commission.

Donate.  To maximize your support of the club, please consider donating your items to the live or silent auction.  All sales proceeds will go to support PSBA activities.

Volunteer!  Bonsai may be slow, but the auction moves fast. Teams of volunteers work on Friday set up, Saturday take down, refreshments, registration/cash desk, silent auction, live auction, and security. We need muscles too, for moving trees.  Get up close and personal with a variety of great trees, make friends with other club members, and support your club.
