PSBA Study Groups

Contact our Study Groups Coordinator, John Gaffney, with questions.

The current PSBA study groups started as regional study groups in January 2023. In the last two years the study groups have expanded to ten groups located throughout the area. While a few have reached the maximum number of members they can accommodate, many still have openings for members.

Study groups meet on a regular basis, usually once a month during the busy months for bonsai, discussing and working on trees in a relaxed environment. We have groups in Mount Vernon, and all the way to Burien and Renton on the south end. Each group meets on a different day and time, so hopefully an area and time works for every member.

Study groups are a chance to work with other club members to further your understanding and skills with bonsai. Study groups can go on field trips, like working with Dan Robinson at Elandan Gardens on his pines or helping fellow bonsai practitioners with their trees. This year study groups will have the opportunity to have a bonsai artist come to their group meeting to help with their trees.
